Watch this space...

You might have noticed that we haven't posted anything in a couple of weeks! We were so busy enjoying Christmas and New Year, and now getting ready for Abigail's christening, that we just haven't had any free time!

We've got some great pictures though, and hopefully things will get a little quieter after this weekend and we will be able to upload some of them for you to see!

Babies Don't Keep

I'm forever singing songs to Abigail that I only know half the words to, so whilst searching out the other half of the words to one on the internet, I found this poem, which I thought was very sweet......

I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs, dust go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.

Where has it all gone!

If you've visited stuartandnicola.com before you might notice that some of the content seems to be missing. Don't worry, it's still here, but we've made a few changes...

We're really enjoying writing Abigail's diary and a lot of people we know are reading it, but in light of recent media coverage about the dangers of having pictures of little ones on websites we have decided to protect some of the site content.

This means that we are going to ask you to register before you can view some areas of our site (those that have photos of Abigail, her cousins and her friends). We're sure that you'll understand, and the registration process is quite painless (honest!)

Hello Bubble!

Hello Bubble!

I was just downloading pictures from the camera, and I spotted this one that Nikki took - this is probably the best photo we have ever taken of our cat Bubble. I don't know if Nikki set the camera to a low f number, or if it chose the setting itself, but I think this is a great picture the way all the grass is blurry in the background!

Cats first outing in the new garden

Cats first outing in the new garden

We let the cats out for the first time today, and they seemed to quite like their new garden. They had a good nose around, and Bubble went next door and introduced herself!

Squeak got a shock because there is friendly little cat called Billy that also lives next door, and he came rushing across to introduce himself!

Both cats came back from their respective expeditions, so hopefully they are settled enough that they won't wander or try to go back to the old house!

We've moved!

We've moved!

We did it! The move finally came through, the day after Nicola's due date, and when Abigail was just six days old - she only spent one night in the house where she had spent nine months as Podgkin!

All the parents rallied round to help us move, and in one weekend we are pretty well organised - we have complete rooms and most of the boxes are gone. Just fine tuning now!

The new house has the space to let us give Abigail her own room, and it has more space downstairs for her to play. We're all really excited to be in now, and looking forward to enjoying the house with Abigail to keep us occupied!

We were hoping we could keep our old phone number, but unfortunately we can't. We will write to let everyone know our new details, but in the meantime please use our mobiles!

It's a girl!

It's a girl!

Abigail Frances arrived at 7:13 pm on Saturday, May 13, weighing 7 lb 1 oz.

Mum and baby are both fine (and dad is too!) and should be home soon.

Welcome to the world Abigail xx

It's getting close now...

Not long to go now (in fact, it could be any day now...)

Nikki is getting really big - and it's funny when she tries to walk as she has a distinct "waddle" now. We thought something was about to happen yesterday but it was a false alarm - we have a little longer to wait.

We are also all packed up because we are also moving house on the 19th (yes, that's right - the day after Nicola's due day - long story - don't ask!)

We are actually quite organised really because I've got some time off with the job change, so it all worked out pretty well in the end. We have our contingency plans in place (thanks mums and dads!) just in case we need them.

Where will Podgkin be born?

All being well Podgkin will be born at Stepping Hill Hospital - the same place that Nicola works!
