Flash module is being used in the real world!

The little module for Drupal that I wrote and that makes it very easy to add flash content has been downloaded a few times, and every now and then I get a request for help or a bug report.

The latest request was from this site. My module is being used in the real world! How cool is that! You can see an example of the flash content they are embedding on this page.

Watch this space...

You might have noticed that we haven't posted anything in a couple of weeks! We were so busy enjoying Christmas and New Year, and now getting ready for Abigail's christening, that we just haven't had any free time!

We've got some great pictures though, and hopefully things will get a little quieter after this weekend and we will be able to upload some of them for you to see!

Where has it all gone!

If you've visited stuartandnicola.com before you might notice that some of the content seems to be missing. Don't worry, it's still here, but we've made a few changes...

We're really enjoying writing Abigail's diary and a lot of people we know are reading it, but in light of recent media coverage about the dangers of having pictures of little ones on websites we have decided to protect some of the site content.

This means that we are going to ask you to register before you can view some areas of our site (those that have photos of Abigail, her cousins and her friends). We're sure that you'll understand, and the registration process is quite painless (honest!)

Back to work!

After a nice break after leaving INEOS, I'm back at work in my new job with DNV! It is going to be very different to what I was doing before, although I'm still working in the chemical industry but with more of a safety angle than an operational one. First impressions of DNV are that it will be a very different organisation to work for, but in a very good way!

If you've been watching the website and following Abigail's diary you might notice that she hasn't written much in the last week! This is on account of her two secretary's being very busy and barely getting five minutes to catch up on emails!

There are more photos to come, we just haven't had time to publish them - so please bear with us and we'll catch up shortly (we hope...)

First barbecue in the new house!

First barbecue in the new house!

We had our first barbecue in the new house today! We got some fantastic sausages and burgers from the farm shop in Hazel Grove, and Brian and Paulene came round too.

We haven't got any garden furniture yet, so we just sat outside with it on our knees, but it was great to "christen" the patio that we have inherited :-)

We spent the rest of the evening in the conservatory - now we have found Nicola's stash of candles we had little tea lights dotted around - it was almost like being on holiday!

Cats first outing in the new garden

Cats first outing in the new garden

We let the cats out for the first time today, and they seemed to quite like their new garden. They had a good nose around, and Bubble went next door and introduced herself!

Squeak got a shock because there is friendly little cat called Billy that also lives next door, and he came rushing across to introduce himself!

Both cats came back from their respective expeditions, so hopefully they are settled enough that they won't wander or try to go back to the old house!

Start as you mean to go on...

Start as you mean to go on...

I decided that I would start as we mean to go on, so I mowed the lawn, and strimmed the edges, and then got the water feature thingy working! I said to Nikki that when we moved I might get in to this gardening thing.

That said, the garden is better planted than we remembered, so there maybe isn't much to do! There is lots of power in the garden (proper mains cables) so I'm very tempted to put in some really nice garden lighting if I have time - I think that could be really striking...

We've moved!

We've moved!

We did it! The move finally came through, the day after Nicola's due date, and when Abigail was just six days old - she only spent one night in the house where she had spent nine months as Podgkin!

All the parents rallied round to help us move, and in one weekend we are pretty well organised - we have complete rooms and most of the boxes are gone. Just fine tuning now!

The new house has the space to let us give Abigail her own room, and it has more space downstairs for her to play. We're all really excited to be in now, and looking forward to enjoying the house with Abigail to keep us occupied!

We were hoping we could keep our old phone number, but unfortunately we can't. We will write to let everyone know our new details, but in the meantime please use our mobiles!

It's a girl!

It's a girl!

Abigail Frances arrived at 7:13 pm on Saturday, May 13, weighing 7 lb 1 oz.

Mum and baby are both fine (and dad is too!) and should be home soon.

Welcome to the world Abigail xx
