mailsave for Drupal 4.7

UPDATE - mailsave is now an official Drupal contribution and you can download the latest versions directly from the mailsave project page.

This also means that if you experience any problems or find a bug then you can raise issue requests directly at the project page.

The first version of mailsave for Drupal 4.7 is ready! mailsave is an extension for the mailhandler module that processes emails and turns them in to posts on a Drupal powered site.

mailsave extends this by intercepting any attachments that may be included and storing them with the post. Even better, if your email includes a jpeg image, and you are using the image module then you can have mailsave turn your post in to an image node, so your post will include the picture.

What does this mean? You can post pictures to your site via email or mobile phone! We currently use it to get pictures from relatives, or if Abigail does something funny when we're out!

It has taken a while to get round to updating the module, and there are a few important changes compared to the 4.6 version if you have used that. Refer to the README.txt file included in the zip file which explains what is different!

mailsave seems to have been quite popular, and a few people had asked if and when there was going to be a version for Drupal 4.7 version! Sorry it took so long :-) You can also now get mailsave for Drupal 5, also available on the project page at drupal.org.

You might also be interested in the flash module, which has also been updated for 4.7.

mailsave for Drupal 5.x?

Hi

I'm very interested in mailsave for Drupal 5, but the link in this post takes to a 'not found' page. Can you confirm if it's really available and where can I get it? Actually it is the only missing bit from my 4.7 toolbox :-(

I'm in the middle of migrating my site to Drupal 5 and a big part of my content depends on the ability to keep attachments in email messages.

Thank you very much!

Oops!

Yes - it is really available, and yes, that was a broken link. Something went wrong during my site upgrade and it looks like internal links may have gotten broken! Correction - I just wrote the link wrong in this post! Put it down to operator error...

The link to mailsave for Drupal 5 should be working now!

First feed back

When I released mailsave for Drupal 4.6 someone specifically asked if I would develop a version for 4.7. They've downloaded the new version and emailed to ask a couple of questions. Then they wrote to say...

It's working great, and thanks for the tip. Your module has been integrated into my company's corporate intranet. I wish I could show it to you, but it's on our internal network.

Again, many thanks!
Mark

So my little project so that I could email pictures from my phone is being used somewhere else too! Cool!
